Lenny Kravitz

Lenny Kravitz

Stylish rocker Lenny Kravitz glams in the new issue of The Block. Kravitz rocks John Varvatos, Phillip Lim and others in the editorial lensed by fashion photographer Steven Pan.

Kravitz's ninth studio album Black and White America was released last month. "Right now, he's filming The Hunger cheap nfl jerseys Games in North Carolina; he'll play the stylist Cinna, which suits well enough, given his proclivity for tightass leather," writes Sarah Nicole Prickett.

Kravitz had a small role in the Oscarwinning Precious. Filmmaker Lee Daniels has cast Kravitz as Andrew Young in his next film Selma, the biopic about the historic 1965 civil rights march.

The cover and one more image WHEN YOU JUMP .

Overnight in Paris, Lenny Kravitz reflects on the life and legacy of the late Teena Marie. "I wouldn be here if it weren for Teena Marie," Kravitz says on the video uploaded via his iPhone. "She took me in when I was around 16yearsold. I was a musician on the street, sh gave me a bedroom, cooked for me, gave me instruments to play and took me to her recording sessions. I owe Teena so much."

Adds Kravitz: "She was a genius, composer, arranger, singer. Underrated to the end."

Lenny Kravitz had a small role in the Oscarwinning "Precious". Now there is word that out filmmaker Lee Daniels has cast the stylish rocker in his next film "Selma", his biopic about the historic 1965

civil rights march. No small role this time, Kravitz tells MTV News.

"The next role is Andrew Young in a film called 'Selma,' directed by

Lee Daniels," Kravitz said. Young was a significant figure in the Civil

Rights movement, someone who worked very closely Dr. Martin Luther King

Jr. And while the story details for "Selma" aren't really out there yet,

Young did aid King Wholesale NFL Jerseys Jr. in planning a Civil Rights Campaign in

Selma, Alabama. collaborator who

was at times the Mayor of Atlanta, a Congressman and the United States

ambassador to the United Nations. Kravitz is aware of all of this. As he

said, "I gotta bring it."

Yep, Kravitz will have to bring it. Andrew Young was one of King's top lieutenants, it's likely Kravitz would get significant screen time.

Robert De Niro is on board as the infamous Alabama Governor George Wallace. Hugh Jackman has also been cast, reportedly as a sheriff. This should be interesting, to say the least.

Filmmaker Lee Daniels, director of the criticallyacclaimed Precious, was photographed by Jason Bell for the Out 100:

"If Daniels wins best director at this year's Oscars for the devastatingly beautiful Preciousas he almost certainly willhe will be the first gay AfricanAmerican to take the honor. The producer of notsolightweight films like Monster's Ball and The Woodsman, Daniels is on his way to collecting a trophy case full of awards (the film has already won top prizes at the Sundance and Toronto film festivals) and securing himself a spot alongside directors like Alexander Payne and Ang Lee as a distinctive voice of his generation."

On a related note, Lee Daniels talks to the Chicago Free Press about the challenge of being an openly gay black director in Hollywood. But more the black gay part is a bigger issue. As a gay man, gay men, there so many of them in Hollywood and (they're) decision makers and it's a cult, I think. I don't have to worry about prejudices right now, anymore. I fought so long all my lifeprejudices about being gay, about being victimized because I was gay, being victimized because I was black, being victimized because I was gay and black. I'm so happy at 50 years old, that I'm being embraced for my spirit and for me. And it's so overwhelming. It's just so beautiful that people can accept me for me and being open. I don't have to lie. The film is showing at only 18 theaters nationwide. Its $100,000 per screen average is an industry record.

They're back. Take a look and take a listen.

The reunion of Nona Hendryx, Patti LaBelle and Sarah Dash has been decades in the making. Here is your first cheap jerseys look at the cover art for Back to Now, the first new studio album from Labelle in more than 30 years.

Get into the lead single Roll Out. (Quicktime and Windows Media) The midtempo track is a little more R than some of Labelle's best known work but the signature voices, bassline and crescendo . it's all there. The track was produced by and features Wyclef Jean. Lenny Kravtz and the incomprable Gamble Huff produce other tracks on the new album.

The Back to Now cover art is signature Labelle. The pioneering 60s and 70s rocksoulfunk trio was best known for their glamazon costumes and meteoric concert stagingthe ladies sometimes used heliocopters to make stage entrancesand their international hit Lady Marmalade. (No discussion allowed of the "remake" from the Moulin Rouge soundtrack.) That wasn't our favorite Labelle track. Does anyone remember ? The bassline on that song is killer and Patti and Nona are screaming into the stratosphere.

Lehigh Valley residents push for citizenship for young immigrants

Lehigh Valley residents push for citizenship for young immigrants

High school graduation is a time of joy for most teenagers, but it wasn for Palmer Township resident Angel Diaz.

She served as a student senator and ranked in the top 10 percent of her graduating class at Easton Area High School last year. But while most of her classmates were making plans for their future, Diaz felt she couldn an undocumented immigrant, her options were limited.

Instead, she enrolled at Northampton Community College, where she become class president and hopes somehow she be able to attend a fouryear school after she cheap jerseys graduates in May.

Diaz and others like her are who 65 Lehigh Valley residents rallied for tonight. Members of the local chapter of Organizing for Action say immigrants who came to the United States as children deserve citizenship.

brought here to this country by their parents through no fault of their own, Allentownbased immigration lawyer Kevin Santos said. they can live normal wholesale jerseys lives. local Organizing for Action chapter supports providing citizenship to the country 11 million undocumented immigrants but believes focusing on those brought here as children is a more obtainable goal, said Jose Campos, the chapter immigration team leader and a Bethlehembased immigration lawyer. House of Representatives plans to consider the Senate immigration bill piece by piece, and is expected to first take up the issue of immigrants brought here as children, Campos said.

Other reports say the House plans to take up border security first, and the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee last week spoke out against citizenship for all undocumented immigrants, according to The Associated Press.

Bethlehem Area School Board Director Aurea Ortiz said she been pushing for legal status for immigrants brought here as children, adding she seen too many Bethlehem graduates unable to go to college because of their immigration status. She said President Barack Obama executive order in 2012 to stop deporting most young immigrants helped some, but more should be done.

of theses men and women are fighting for our armed forces and graduating in the top of their class, but they still living in the dark as secondclass citizens, she said.

Bethlehem Mayor John Callahan and Easton Mayor Sal Panto Jr. also voiced their support for citizenship cheap nfl jerseys for immigrants who came to the country as children. Both said their cities have long histories of contributions from immigrants.

Clayton Stoner and cleaning up the Wild's game

Clayton Stoner and cleaning up the Wild's game

Wild faces Joel Ward and the Washington Capitals tonight at the house formerly known as MCI Center.

Wild's looking for its fourth in a row. Caps are looking for their fourth in a row. CT and during the Yadier Molina Jersey first intermission. We've got some good topics. Remember, if you're a radio listener and want to hear the sweet voices of Bob Kurtz and Tom Reid and the grating, obnoxious, annoying, insufferable voice of Kevin Falness (he's a really nice guy though), tonight's Wild game can be heard on 107.9 FM due to the 100.3 FM conflict with the Vikings game.

Josh Harding in the cage for Minnesota. Don't be surprised if Niklas Backstrom gets the call Saturday in Raleigh.

Obviously everything is subject to change and maybe Harding's performance tonight makes another no brainer call for Miguelito Yeo.

But at some point Yeo wants and needs to get Backstrom back in the cage. One, again, Harding has multiple sclerosis and the Wild needs to make sure Harding is not run into the ground. He was lost for two months last year and has shown a www.officialbaseballcardinals.com/Authentic-Yadier-Molina-Jersey propensity the past number of seasons of little and bigger injuries. Two, it would better serve the Wild if it can somehow get Backstrom into a rhythm as well.

"Hards has forced us to keep going here," Yeo said. "There no question that I do want to get Backy in there, especially that game that he played in Chicago, I thought he was outstanding in that game and would like to get him playing at that level consistency. We a better team if we have both guys going and we going to need both guys. At the same time, when you got a hot guy, it hard not to ride him, too."

Nate Prosser is in for the injured Keith Ballard. My gut says Matt Dumba plays in Raleigh if it's true the 10th game means squat to the Wild. At some point, he's got to play. But again, if the defensemen are great tonight, Yeo may not want to fiddle with it.

Yeo was impressed with Clayton Stoner standing up to Calgary's Tim Jackman on Tuesday. Jackman crushed Jared Spurgeon and he was lost for all of the second period for it. Then after Zenon Konopka made it 4 officialbaseballcardinals.com/Authentic-Matt-Holliday-Jersey 1, Jackman slashed and cross checked Jason Pominville.

Stoner, who had a www.officialbaseballcardinals.com/Authentic-Matt-Holliday-Jersey tough game defensively, stepped up to Jackman, who did challenge Stoner to a fight earlier in the game.

"He didn hesitate," Yeo said. "That a team guy. That a guy that cares about his teammates. There's a lot of debate about fighting right now and whatnot, but bottom line, regardless of how you do it, you have to be there for each other.

"He brings something that we need in the lineup and that what forces us to put him in the lineup. We need him on the PK, and we need his physical presence."

Again, the Wild has won six of seven and is not particularly happy the way it has been playing lately.

Today's video session had to do with, STOP THROWING THE PUCK AWAY.

The turnovers lately have been glaring and plentiful.

"When you have success, there things that creep into your game, little things, things that you not aware of," Yeo said. "These are things that we want to rectify right now. Turnovers. We talk about puck possession. We're making plays. That good. But at the same time, we're hurting ourselves in a lot of ways. Make plays when they're there and when they're not there, don force it.

"Line changes, not good enough. It's not one player. Collectively, as a group, we have to be much better."

I've got a real fun lead note in tomorrow's paper, so please check that out. Some good stuff. I also talked to Jonas Brodin, who says there's times where his bubble is getting foggy and that has caused some turnovers. I noticed two icings the other day where his passes were way uncharacteristically off the mark. He says it's not a big problem and he's starting to get used to it. He says he'll have to wear the bubble for two or three more weeks.

If you want to ask a question for Sunday's Insider, see the below blog. Again, I can't take every question. I try to pick off about 10 or 12 that can fit in my allotted space.

Caps can you light you up. Wild must stay out of the box. There is no better power play teacher in the league than Caps coach Adam Oates. The once star playmaker had a great PP when he was an assistant in Tampa, when he was an assistant in New Jersey and as the head honcho in Washington.

According to court documents, MacNeill was charged after he stole his daughter's identity while she was in Ukraine.MacNeill was formerly a clinical director of the Utah State Developmental Center in American Fork. But while MacNeill's release from prison essentially wraps up his federal case, he may still face state charges for killing his wife."When we look at this case there appears to be a lot of evidence that is very suspicious," Taylor said. "But what we think is suspicious and what we can prove are two different things."The investigation stems from allegations that MacNeill killed his wife Michele shortly after she had plastic surgery in 2007. According to court documents filed in March 2011, MacNeill may have killed Michele with a lethal cocktail of drugs because he wanted to conceal an affair with Gypsy Willis. The documents also state that MacNeill said he wanted to kill one of his daughters, admitted to killing his brother and making it look like suicide and bragged about killing his patients.
